MagScan
What is MagScan?
MagScan is a production-based document scanning software solution.
MagScan delivers a powerful, affordable and flexible way for
you to efficiently and effectively capture all of the paper-based
information throughout your organization. Why
do I need MagScan?
Industry analysts tell us that more than 90% of the world’s
information is managed via paper. In fact, you are likely dealing
with more paper now than ever before. |
|
The real problem with that is paper, due to its very nature
is inefficient. The fact is, you probably don’t really
care about the paper itself as you do about the information
that resides on the paper. Therefore, if there were a way
to quickly “capture” the paper one time and accurately
extract the key information you need to run your business,
you could lower your operating costs, get more done with the
same staff, or even increase revenues.
With MagScan you can easily capture all of your paper documents
and in many cases automatically and accurately extract key
pieces of information without ever touching a keyboard. Once
captured, the extracted information can instantly be passed
to other applications, such as, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Lawson,
Baan, Documentum, FileNet, Open Text, etc., to complete a
specific business transaction, or simply to archive a record
for businesses that require auditable records.
I am familiar with other scanning solutions; how
does MagScan compare?
Frankly, you will find that MagScan looks and feels very much
like the leading information capture applications available
on the market today. Many of the features you know are available
in MagScan, such as, OCR, barcoding, patch codes, rubber band
zoom, rubber band OCR, sticky fields, electronic file import,
release to CD, and many more.
A few important differences include: |
|
Absolutely NO DONGLES – not even on the
server! |
|
Very easy to understand licensing model – easy to buy
and easy to expand |
| |
Each scan station includes one additional indexing workstation
– get more for your investment. |
I already have another scanning application, so
how can I benefit from MagScan?
We know that thousands of companies have deployed many different
types of scanning solutions to help their organizations deal
with paper more efficiently. For the most part, these solutions
– particularly the leading solutions – work very
well and we encourage their continued use. However, sometimes
buying those same solutions for another departmental application,
or expanding their reach into multiple remote offices can
be cost prohibitive. MagScan can be your answer. MagScan can
capture and release images and information to virtually any
ECM, or line-of-business application, and because we are the
manufacturer, we can create custom integrations that can even
feed information from MagScan into other capture applications
– even advanced forms recognition applications. We’ll
even let you try MagScan at no cost, because we know that
once you see how easy it is to use you’ll want to own
it.
What scanners does MagScan support?
We’ve designed MagScan to use Kofax’s Image Controls,
Pixel Translations ISIS controls and industry standard TWAIN
drivers, so virtually every “document” scanner
available on the market today is supported by MagScan. MagScan
does not support large format scanners.
What Enterprise Content Management solutions does
MagScan support?
MagScan provides a full set of API’s, so it’s
easy to create a release module to virtually any repository
or database. We have created release modules to the following
solutions: Open Text/Gauss/Magellan, EMC/Documentum AX, Microsoft
SharePoint, IBM Lotus Notes, Release to CD, FileNet, Oracle
and SAP. If you have a different repository than listed here,
let us know and we can easily create a release module for
you.
