Why do I need VisiWeb?

Other companies provide thin-client scanning, so what’s so great about VisiWeb?

Great question! We would answer this by first defining the difference between “thin-client” scanning and “zero-footprint” scanning. Thin-client scanning refers to the ability to scan documents via a web browser. However, many of these applications require the user to download a “small” applet, or Active-X file. Many times these small additions can cause performance issues and create additional management responsibilities for your IT department. Zero-footprint scanning is exactly that – nothing added. IT controls the loading, management and distribution of the application. This keeps costs down and gives you the ability to enable an unlimited number of remote users very quickly. And because VisiWeb is so easy to use, users are up and running in a matter of minutes.

VisiWeb was designed for ad-hoc and remote scanning needs and where a “zero-footprint” application is desired. In some cases, adding another scanning station - local or remote - to an existing solution can cost thousands of dollars, which may make the return on investment unreasonable. Images from VisiWeb can be stored on a local drive, sent to a watched folder on the network, or released directly to a content repository, so there would be no interruption with your current scanning solution.
