Volume is based on rated daily duty volume:
- Low Volume Scanners = Rated at 1-1,500 pages per day
- Mid Volume Scanners = Rated at 1,501-5,000 pages per day
- High Volume Scanners = Rated at +5,000 pages per day

Production scanners for corporate or organizational requirements are different than scanning equipment for your home in that they need software to capture and manipulate the image, do automated forms processing, collect the indexing data and store or distribute the resulting information.
